Why Does My Mother Want To Be A Hillbilly?

I don’t even know how to start this off, but here goes.
My mother wants to be a “hillbilly”. When I was growing up, she would listen to rock music and she said she hated hillbillies. That was in the 90′s. Now, she has this obsession with wanna-be hillbillies. She bought a second house in a “country” area. (Which is not country) It’s kind of offensive to people who live there since it’s not hillbilly. It was a piece of crap from the beginning. There is no shower, no beds and in the kitchen the cabinets are on the floor and there is only a fridge. She has no intention of fixing this, she says it makes her feel “at home”. I don’t understand how, because she grew up in the city. I think she bought it because she is used to screwing people over and then moving. But I don’t understand why she wants to be hillbilly, and she will do anything, and screw over anyone to do it.
