Can I Go To College Without A High School Diploma Or A Ged?

I’m 18 years old and I really want to move on with my life and is holding me back. I consider myself to be a smart individual but my problem has always been I’m lazy and not interested. I really enjoy and writing and pretty anything revolves around the “Art” department; is I always excelled at in High School. The rest, I wasn’t so great in.
I literally feel like I will never graduate and my mom tells me that “getting a GED is for failures” and says I don’t that option. High school has been a rough 4 years and I want it to be over with so I can just put it behind me and get on with my life. I live in Florida and I was wondering if I could possibly go to a Community in my state a or a GED? I was gonna go to a CC for two years and then transfer to a University but at the rate High School is going for me right now, I won’t be able to do that anytime soon.
I’ve heard of people going to CC without a GED or Diploma before and I was wondering if I could. I looked on the CC website for my area and couldn’t find a requirements page or information.

Fellow College Students, What Are Your Favorite Meals And Snacks That You Can Prepare In Your Dorm Room?

I four papers are each going to be in excess of forty pages to finish writing in addition to final exams to for, so I’m planning to become a part-time hermit the next few weeks and have all weekday lunches and in my room while working. I am fortunate to live in a sorority house has a wonderful chef who makes dinner for us, so I’ll continue to dine with my friends at night, but am going to skip eating out for lunch and snacks as much as possible until the end of the quarter. I’m planning a trip to Trader Joe’s on Thursday to stock up on groceries, and am hoping to get suggestions for simple, healthy to make during my upcoming self-imposed solitary confinement sentence. I’ve been making either a fruit smoothie or corn on the cob and a salad whenever I stay in for lunch, but I think I need to diversify my diet a little.
snacks and foods do you keep in dorm room? meals do you make most often? If you have a meal plan, how frequently do you eat in your room instead of in a dining hall or elsewhere?
I’d also welcome answers from non- who might be able to provide recipes or ideas for relatively healthy vegetarian meals and snacks that I could make in my little room. I have a mini-fridge, blender, microwave, coffee maker, and a nifty toaster oven with a four-slice toaster built in, so I could set my culinary goals a bit higher than animal cracker and yogurt parfaits or smoothies.
Bonus Question ~ How much longer do you have until winter break? : )

Holiday Wish List? (college Students, Especially)?

Yes, I am aware it isn’t even Thanksgiving yet, but my family asked for my super early this year. Anyway…
I’m a senior and will definitely be going to this year, so to alleviate myself from having to buy A TON of stuff for myself in , I want to try to ask for many of the things I’ll need for Christmas! I live in Southern California and no idea where I’ll be going yet (I’ve applied to schools in NorCal, SoCal, Texas, Alabama, Colorado, Mississippi, Florida, Massachusetts, and New ), so it makes things a little bit tougher. However, I know there are things need across the boards. I’m not talking about the usual supplies, but rather luxuries I have living at home that I won’t think about leaving when I begin living on my own.
So far, I have:
-clothes (like button downs, t shirts, and sweaters that can be used universally)
-a Marc Jacobs watch (I’ve never really used a watch, but it’s definitely something I would wear everyday)
-Miss Dior perfume (I’ve been using Daisy for years and think I need something more mature)
-sweatpants and workout clothes
-boots
-Butter nail polish
-eyeliner sets from Urban Decay
-Henri Bendel jewelry box (I’m assuming storage will be an issue, plus this comes with a key so I know roommates won’t be able to get into my things)
-Keurig Coffee Maker
-Bedding sets from Dormify.com
else would you suggest? ’s on list?
Thanks!
