I’m not fully aware of what a hipster really is, but I’ve been called a hipster before. Most girls my age are “scene” (what they call themselves) and care so much about make up and what not. I barely ever put on make up, and if I do, it’s just a bit of eyeliner and lipstick. My hair reaches a bout 6 inches above my hip. My hair is just plain natuarlly brown. I either let it loose or a messy bun. I don’t care. Sometimes I just wear a beani. I usually wear shades. Those metal-framed type are my favourite. I wake up at 6:00 am and my brother drops me off at a coffee shop near my school (sometimes I ride my bike). I sit in the same table, everyday, in a side/corner. I drink my black coffee and read/write or do unfinished homework. I stay at the coffee shop for about an hour and then go off to school. When I don’t finish my coffee, I take it with me to school.
What I wear
Shoes- Vans, Converse, Moccasins, Toms
Tops- Usually over-sized patterned shirts. Or over-sized band shirts
Bottoms- My mom handed me down 2 of her jeans that I cut into shorts, without realizing I accidently cut them into high wasted shorts. Sometimes I wear tights under that. I wear jeans, and shirts.
Sweaters- I really like oversized tops. and crewnecks.
As for music, I listen to Grizzly Bear, Of Monsters and Men, Mumford and Sons, etc.
People at school call me a hipster. I’m not aware as to what a hipster is. I have hints, but I don’t know. That’s not what concerns me. What concerns me, is the way I should be reacting to this.. Am I supposed to be worried? Is this to bully me? Or is it a compliment?
I know what your saying. How could I not know what a hipster is and stuff.. Easy, I’m my own person. I’ve always been this way, and I don’t keep up with trends.
